Welcome to the African Continental Cycling Centre

African Continental Cycling Centre

The African Continental Cycling Centre is the hub for cycling in Africa, based in the city of Potchefstroom, South Africa, on 1400 meters of altitude, in a Malaria free area, about 120km from Johannesburg.

Established in 2005, more than 200 athletes have attended the Centre so far. Some of our athletes won medals at African Continental Championships, others took part in UCI World Cups and some even qualified and participated in the 2008 Olympic Games.

Our mission is
• to establish training camps for athletes, coaches and national teams
• to recognise talent and to give the athletes the opportunity to attend the World Cycling Centre
   in Switzerland
• to further develop and educate the countries of the African continent in the sport of cycling
• to further develop all disciplines of cycling in collaboration with the
  African National Federations
• to act as a representative of the UCI within the African continent

Our aim is
• to give exposure of high level training and racing to African cyclists
• to increase the racing level of cycling on the entire continent

Our long term goal is:
• to see African Athletes competing in the International calendar (worldwide),
in UCI World Cups, UCI World Championships and Olympic Games.
